General Information
All KCBS rules will be in effect unless otherwise noted
This document may be modified from time to time as issues develop. Changes will be clearly noted and teams will be notified if the change is adverse in nature so you are not hit with any surprises.
Arrival: Teams are expected to arrive as early as practical on Saturday September 7 for ease of placement. You may arrive on Friday; however services or placement may be limited until Saturday due to the Backyard Event scheduled on Friday and Satuday. Teams should find convenient and legal parking in the area.
Ash Disposal: Receptacles will be located in various locations and clearly marked. Please do not put anything in the containers beside ash.
Competition Turn In: Standard KCBS turn in times will be observed and enforced. Turn in location will be the Conference Center Entry on the northeast side of the hotel.
Cooks Meeting: The cooks meeting will be Saturday the 7th at 7:00 p.m.
Electricity: Electricity will be provided as requested on the Application. Please bring at least 100 feet of heavy duty extension cord, or appropriately rated 30 or 50 amp RV cable, and any necessary adaptors. Please ensure your equipment will operate on GFCI circuits, especially if adaptors are used. We cannot guarantee compatibility.
Ice: Ice will be available throughout the event for a nominal charge. Contact any event staff for ice delivery to your site.
Judges: Judges are being secured through the Rocky Mountain BBQ Association Judges Liaison Program so the CBJ percentage is expected to be high. Some sponsors may be afforded the opportunity to judge.
Last-Minute Needs: Grocery and hardware stores are located within 10 minutes of the event site. Dillon’s (Kroger), Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, True Value Hardware, Home Depot. See the associated map.
Meat Inspection: Contest meats will be inspected as soon as possible after your arrival and at your convenience.
Parking: Ample parking is located adjacent to the event site for any and all vehicles not required or able to be confined within your assigned site.
Quiet Time: Quiet time is 11:00 p.m.to 6:00 a.m., due to other activity in the contest area.

Tents/Canopies: Please plan to secure your structures with sandbags, cement blocks, etc.
Trash: Please bring your own trash bags and receptacles; however routine trash collection and disposal will be provided throughout the event. Large dumpsters will be conveniently located.
